This book is the true story of a young couple faced with the challenge of raising three physically handicapped sons to adulthood. It details the triumphs and failures, and the joys and sorrows of watching three exceptional sons achieve real-world successes in spite of the severity of their handicaps. This is not a how-to book, it is the history of this family as it occurred and describes the difficulties all faced, the decisions made, and the results of those decisions

The world of literature is full of fictionalized accounts of heroes. This is the story of a family whose members are each heroes in thier own right. Three of them happened to be little people. I was lucky enough to call Randy, David and B.J. my friends while growing up in Louisiana. They lived thier lives in a ways such that thier stature wasn't so much what thier friends noticed. What we did notice was their every day enthusiasm for life and their will and ability to do whatever they set thier minds to accomplish. This book is a great inspirational read for anybody with a heart. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

It is obvious in this book that under Gods help and direction that all things are possible.

A heart-warming story of three special needs children. This Womans example of a mother's love, devotion and patience cannot be surpassed.
This was an insightful, entertaining, and easy read. I really enjoyed getting to learn more about a friend's childhood. Thanks for revealing a bit of your background.
I truely enjoyed the walk down this lovely lady's journey with her boys. I laughed, I cried...I confess, I know 2 of the 3 boys. I went to school with BJ (Bill) and Dave. Bill is a dear friend. It was great fun to peer behind the curtain...
Thank you Arlene
Having read Arlene Duke Bradford's book gave me a new look into raising children who look different from others, but who are just smaller versions of any child or adult.
There were great challenges with her the three boys, but Arlene, ever the mother bear, combatted each problem with determination and a sense of humor, and made sure her sons were not slighted in this world.
It is well worth the read.
I grew up next door to the Bradfords and spent many Sunday's going on walks with Arlene Bradford. Even as a little girl I was always attracted to the kindness that her and Don showed to many. I enjoyed picking raspberry's by the pounds and visiting with them. I was SO glad to see that they both had written books, and of course with my love of nonfiction I felt that I had to read Arlene's first. I loved it, and would recommend it to anyone. I especially love the title. Great read!
Wonderful book. What an amazing mother and father. I went to highschool with the disabled children so knew them personally. Recently attended the second funeral of this amazing family.
Ordered 5 books today, April 25, 2011. One book for my wife and myself and 1 for each of our 3 children and the son of our deceased daughter who were friends with the Bradford boys.

I remember the football games played in our front yard. All of the "regular" sized players had to play on their knees.
